You are probably used to The Emmerald Bhuddha, The Grand Palace, The National Museum, and the others around the area; however, if we talk about Santichaiprakan Park, Phra Sumen Fort, many people have not probably known them. They maybe have heard about them, but without knowing where those places have been located. Truly, Santichaiprakan Park is not far from the familiar places that everyone knows well like Khaosan Road, Banglampho Market, The Royal Field and the others.

Moreover,travelling to Santichaiprakan Park is quite convenience, because you can reach it by bus, boat, and in your own car. If you would like to get to there in your own car, you can drive along the route passing the National museum and then turn left and right into Phra Artit Road. After passing Unicef Organization, Phra Arthit Pier, you will arrive at Santichaiprakan Park by five minutes from The Royal Field. If you would like to take the boat, you can get in Chaophraya express boat at any pier and get out off the boat at Phra Artit Pier then turn left to Phra Arthit Road and finally get to Santichaiprakarn immediately.

But, if you would like to journey in free style, you can take any buses passing Phra Arthit Road or Banglampho Market as well. In case of taking the buses passing Banglampho market,you have to get out off the bus at Banglampho market and go straight. When you see an intersection, turn left and walk along footpath. Just few minutes, you will arrive at Santichaiprakan Park which is located at the curve of the road with Phra Sumen Fort before it.

Santichaiprakan Park is in the small size, but the place is pleasant shade and quiet. It is completely good for relaxing and reading. As going to there , I would like to say that it is very good and there are some foreign tourists, but not many crowds like domestic ones. Especially, the Park adjoins The Chaophraya River, you can get the breeze and the scenery with Chaophraya express boats and relieve your strain along the stream. If you have no idea where to go, try to do this.

Trimit Temple in Bangkok Travel

Trimit temple is located on Thai-Chinese Friendship Road near China Town and Bangkok railway station (Hualamphong). You can travel to this place easily and quickly. If you start at China Town area, you can walk along the road to Yowarach soi 1 and turn left at the corner with keeping walk about 100 meters then reaching the place finally. However, you can also travel to the tourist attraction from Hualamphong station by crossing the road at Phadungkrungkasem canal and turn left with crossing Phraram 4 road. Then turn right to Thai-Chinese Frienship Road with going on to the temple.

The History of The Temple

The temple was built around 1832. It was formerly named Wat Sam Chin(Three Chineses Temple). After three Chinese donors who contributed their properties to build the temple in 1939. Its name was changed to Wat Traimit Witthayaram and became a royal temple in 1956. The Buddha image named Sukhothai Trimit located The Wiharn (Hall of Worship) belongs to Sukhothai period, presumably made during the reign of king Ramkhamhaeng the great (1277-1317) the image was moved from wat Mahathat in Sukhothai to wat chotinaram(wat phrayakrai) during the reign of king Rama III. Then it was shifted to this temple and stored in the pavilion before moving to the present location in 1955. During its moving the lime covering of the image was cracked revealing the guilt golden Buddha image inside. The entire covering was then removed.

This newest tourist attraction is located between Hualamphong railway station and Yaowarach Rd. or China Town, so it is easy for you to travel to.

The center presents the history of Chinese people in Thailand including emigrating of them. The museum looks like a temple and four stories were designed. The first story is a big meeting room and the second one is the exhibition room of Chinese’s history, their emigration to Thailand and the way of life from the past to the present. There are also the Buddha images with casting procedure in several periods on the third one and the grand Buddha image is worshiped on the fourth one.

Phra Phutta Yodfa Bridge in Bangkok Travel

The bridge is widely known as Phra Phuttha Yodfa Bridge and shortly called Saphan Phut. It was the second bridge built across The Chao Phraya River, and opened on April 6, 1932 in the reign of King RAMA VII. It was built in the occasion of 150th anniversary of Bangkok to commemorate Somdet Phra Phuttha Yodfa Chulalok The Great(King RAMA I), The founder of Bangkok. The bridge was built of iron structure with openable pavement for passing ships. After restoration in 1986, the pavement was permanently fixed and cannot open any more. At one side of the bridge is the statue of king RAMA I, built together with the bridge. The statue was designed by Prince Narissara Nuwatthiwong, and casted by professor Silpa Phirasri

Chatujuk park is one of the big ones in Bangkok, and is quite easy to travel to. If you start at The Victory Monument, You can take many numbers of the regular buses running on Phaholyothin Rd. such as number 8, 27, 28, 77 etc. You can also travel to the place by the air-conditioned buses such as number 27, 502 etc. If you start at Central Department Store of Lardphrao branch it is very easy for you to reach there. Because the park is located behind the Department Store, you can cross the bridge and turn left. Keep walking along the footpath then arrive at the park by ten minutes.

You can travel to this tourist attraction easily. Just keep walking along The Phraphuttthyodfa bridge from Phranakon bank and keep continuing until reaching the small circle. Then turn left with crossing the road. You finally get Wat Phichaya Yatikaram Warawihan.

Location

Wat Phichaya Yatikaram is a minor royal temple in the category of “Worawihan”. The temple covers the area of 22 rai 3 ngan and 64 square wa. It is located by the riverside of Somdet Chao Phraya Canal, Somdet Chao Phraya Road, Khawaeng Somdet Chao Phraya, Khet Khalong San, Bangkok. The temple’s form of art belongs to the early Rattanakosin in period.

History

Wat Phichaya Yatikaram Worawihan was previously a deserted temple. There is no evidence to prove when the temple was constructed. During 1829-1832, Somdet Chao Phraya Borommaha Phichaiyat (That Bunnak ), appointed as Phraya Si Phiphat, restored religious sites and established this temple in order to humbly offer it as a royal temple to King Rama III. Then, the King named it “Wat Phraya Yatikaram”. Later during the reign of King Rama IV, the temple was renamed as “Wat Phichaya Yatikaram” (in which villagers usually call “Wat Phichaiyat”). As this temple was promoted as a minor royal temple in a category of “Worawihan”, the category was then added to its existing name. Thereafter, its common name became “Wat Phichaya Yatikaram Worawihan”.

The Twin Pagodas

The twin pagodas have a shape of a Lanka stupa. Each pagoda measures 23 and 11 wa for its base and height, respectively. Apart from the difference in sizes, the shape of these pagodas is very similar to that of Phra Chedi Borommathat located in Nakhon Si Thammarat province.
